DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO MEXICO

Flight to Mexico. Airport reception and transfer to hotel.

Where to 2400 meters today stretches from Mexico City, extended 500 years ago when Lake Texcoco on an island was built the magnificent Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Aztec empire. From this lake gradually dried up there is almost as gardens of Xochimilco.
Today, true megalopolis stretching nearly 2,000 square kilometers, Mexico is now, with its 20 million inhabitants, one of the largest cities.

DAY 2: MEXICO

Breakfast.
Visit Constitution Square, usually called "Zocalo". This place was part of the temple in the Aztec society and here stood the civil and religious holidays. Today the Zocalo of Mexico is an immense public square, the largest in the world after the Great Square of Moscow, and is the heart of the city, the rallying point of defiladed and social and political events. Continue to the floating gardens of Xochimilco.

With these 157 miles of navigable canals lined with hundreds of small islands, much of which has been transformed into ecological park, Xochimilco has become one of the sights in the national and international tourism. One of the most popular attractions is a ride aboard flat-bottomed boats known as "Trajinera"
Visit the National Museum of Anthropology (closed Mondays), located in Chapultepec Park. It offers a total area of 400,000 SQM, the opportunity to discover the history and culture of all pre-Columbian civilizations. This museum, inaugurated in 1964, is one of the finest museums in the world. The visit is long since has a dozen rooms, all equally interesting one over the other. The ground floor is devoted to the history of the Central Plateau (from the early classical period to today) and different regions. DAY 3: MEXICO / TEOTIHUACAN / PUEBLA (2h30 drive)

Breakfast early in the morning.
Departure for Teotihuacan.

Then visit the famous city of the Gods ". Teotihuacan was the first western metropolis and it is here that the cult of the god Quetzalcoatl began. Teotihuacan had its heyday (7th century AD) about 150,000 inhabitants divided into four different ethnic groups.
Drive to Puebla City Tour: few Mexican cities have preserved as faithfully footprint Spanish. DAY 4: PUEBLA / OAXACA (approximately 4 hours drive)

Departure to Oaxaca, capital of the state of the same name. The city of jade, called so because of the stone which had been built in most buildings, has preserved its colonial charm. Former Spanish town and declared a national monument by Unesco, Oaxaca is close attention to the preservation of its colonial buildings.
Lunch.
Visit the city of Oaxaca, the Zocalo, a chocolate factory, the church of Santo Domingo, considered one of the most beautiful baroque churches of Mexico, and colorful market. Oaxaca is located in a fertile valley in southern Mexico and still keeps its traditions with crafts and lifestyle. The Oaxaca Valley was called by the Aztecs Huaxyacá (meaning: near the location of acacia). Since 1521, the city was invaded by the Spaniards in 1872 and renamed as the Oaxaca, name of the brilliant statesman born in the region. Many of these residents are descendants of the Mixtec and Zapotec, where a large Indian influence.

DAY 5: OAXACA / ► ► ... / TUXTLA GUTIERREZ / SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS (about 2 h 00 road)

Breakfast.
Transfer to the airport in Oaxaca and flight to Tuxtla Gutierrez: the state capital of Chiapas since 1892, this region was the cradle of Mayan civilization.
Lunch.
Drive motor boat (with time) in Canyon del Sumidero where you can admire the magnificent gorge with cliffs rocks reach an altitude of 1000 meters and a depth of 150 meters. Located 10km from Tuxtla Gutierrez, the canyon is one of the most beautiful works of nature. The boat trip on the river Grijalva can admire a unique fauna and phenomena created by nature over millions of years.
Continue to San Cristobal de las Casas, founded in 1528 by Diego de Mazariegos. The city owes its name to the local patron saint (St Kitts) and Bartholomew de las Casas, Spanish prelate of the Order of St. Dominic, patron of the Indian, who was bishop of Chiapas from 1544. This mountain town (2116 md of altitude) with colonial-style buildings are topped with red tile roofs exposing brightly colored facades, will not leave anyone indifferent.

DAY 6: SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS

Breakfast.
Tourist and market: the life of this city appears to be concentrated in its prodigious market which combines the picturesque costumes of Tzotzil Indians descended from their villages with donkeys and baskets. DAY 8: Palenque / Campeche (about 6 hr drive)

Breakfast.
Early morning visit the ruins of Palenque. The harmonious proportions of the architecture and strength of the mysterious forest of Palenque are one of the most beautiful Mayan cities of Central America. Lost amid lush vegetation, Palenque proudly demonstrates knowledge and complexity of this fascinating pre-Hispanic culture. The unique architecture of its buildings, the secrets they hide and the large number of hieroglyphics deciphered so far have enabled modern humans to discover a part of the ancestral mysteries hidden here for centuries under the shadow of nature . Founded around 100 BC, Palenque was a village of farmers, the city has experienced a flourishing period between 600 and 700 AD, the period during which many achievements have been built in most buildings . It is believed that the fall of Palenque is due to a rebellion of the lower classes, who had lost faith in their rulers and their gods. After a long period of internal wars, the city was depopulated.

DAY 10: MERIDA / CHICHEN ITZA / CANCUN (about 4 Hrs drive)

DAY 11: CANCUN / Out
